OES is pleased to announce our partnership with The Homestead, a South African Non-Profit Organization that has been providing care and support for children who are from the streets since 1982.
Our company was founded on the belief that what we do needs to improve society. We do this daily by designing online learning programs that create opportunities for people to improve their lives. However, we know that partnerships amplify our impact, so on this Mandela Day, we commit to a long-term relationship with The Homestead.
OES chose The Homestead not only because they provide vulnerable children with care and a home, but they also have a unique program focused on equipping youth with independent living skills, social networks, and the maturity they need to succeed. We believe that this will be a strong partnership because like us, The Homestead believes in partnership and creating opportunities that will change the lives of individuals and their communities.
This year, OES will be supporting The Homestead’s quarterly campaigns by donating our time, resources, and expertise to assist the two Child and Youth Care Centers (CYCC) and six Drop-in Centers around Cape Town.

About The Homestead
The Homestead is a Non-Profit Organization established in 1982 to care for and support children who are from the streets. Many of these children come from extreme family environments marked by violence, coercive control, and psychological distress, leading them to live in adverse conditions or end up begging or working on the streets. We have a Prevention and Early Intervention Program where children receive psycho-social and developmental support, giving them a chance for normal growth and stability. Placement of children in residential facilities is the last resort.
The Homestead has two Child and Youth Care Centers: the Bridge CYCC in Khayelitsha and LaunchPad Transitional CYCC in Observatory, caring for boys and youth until they realize their full potential. To reduce and prevent the risk of children ending up on the streets, the Homestead operates six Prevention and Early Intervention Program Centers.
