Construct Education is becoming OES. New name, same team, and same commitment to online learning excellence.
The University of Oxford’s inaugural MOOC, “From Poverty to Prosperity: Understanding Economic Development”, marked a significant venture into online education, reaching over 100,000 learners globally. This case study explores the collaborative effort between The University of Oxford and OES in creating an impactful and accessible learning experience.
In shaping Oxford University’s MOOC, we began by delving into user research, incorporating insights from future participants to understand how they would engage with the course, considering aspects like accessibility, time commitment, and language preferences. Thereafter a comprehensive learning strategy was developed, outlining key learning outcomes for each course element, aligning with the overall strategy.
Course development followed a methodical process, starting with the design of a pilot module and user testing to validate strategic objectives. Real-world case studies became the heroes, offering tangible examples across continents, while on-site filming allowed Oxford faculty to step into the limelight, making the MOOC a true “Oxford experience”.
