Construct Education is becoming OES. New name, same team, and same commitment to online learning excellence.
King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) selected OES to help them with a multifaceted project aimed at enhancing their e-learning strategy, developing micro-learning content, and establishing an Arabic massive open online course (MOOC) within a tight 16-month timeframe. Central to this endeavor was accommodating the diverse needs of KAUST’s audience, spanning various backgrounds, language preferences, and learning objectives.
A comprehensive learning-first strategy prioritized the entire learner experience from user interface design to content localization. By taking an Arabic-first approach we ensured cultural relevance and engagement.
A range of micro-learning modules were developed to accommodate diverse learning preferences, allowing learners to select content aligned with their interests and needs.
Additionally, a fully Arabic MOOC on entrepreneurship provided a structured learning path for those seeking a more comprehensive educational experience. To elevate engagement we created a gamified, community-based course, shifting the experience away from modules, quizzes, instructors, and lectures to levels, challenges, mentors, and bonus content driven by unlocks.

Expanded Reach
The response has been overwhelming, with over 71,000 people signing up for the course and thousands of students completing the entire eight levels of entrepreneurship adventure.
Each level features 3 main challenges as well as thematic decision-making opportunities on the course themes.
“Our goal was to create the first Arabic course on entrepreneurship on edX.org. Launching the gamified Entrepreneurship Adventures, we received an overwhelming response. We’ve got big plans to expand our impact and now will be running the course twice a year.”
