OES recently had an incredible experience at Coursera Connect 2024 in Las Vegas, where educational leaders and innovators came together to explore the future of learning. The event buzzed with energy, and our team was proud to be a part of such a meaningful conversation around inclusivity and the evolving role of technology in education.
Panel Participation at Coursera Connect
Dr. Christine Levinson, a key representative from OES, participated in a standout panel discussion on how to build more inclusive learning opportunities for today’s diverse workforce. Moderated by Coursera’s Trena Minudri, the panel included Dr. Rolanda Johnson Wilkerson, who shared her inspiring work on the Olay Cosmetic Science Specialization Course, developed in partnership with OES. Richard Phillips, Dean at Georgia State University, brought valuable insights on fostering inclusivity within academic spaces, rounding out a truly thought-provoking discussion. Reflecting on the experience, Dr. Levinson noted:
“Being part of this panel and the larger conversation at Coursera Connect felt like a culmination of our work at OES. We’re proving that inclusivity and innovation can go hand-in-hand—you don’t have to choose one over the other.”
Connecting With Clients and as a Team
The conference also provided a special opportunity for our remote Account Management team to gather in person, something that doesn’t happen often. Nicola Cresp, Executive Director: New Products and International for OES, flew in from Australia to meet the US-based team, making this gathering even more special. Our team also enjoyed connecting face-to-face with many of our clients, partners, and colleagues—people we usually see through the lens of Google Meet or Zoom.
Throughout the event, keynotes and discussions left lasting impressions. Dr. Alondra Nelson’s talk on AI governance stood out, emphasizing that AI isn’t magic—it requires thoughtful regulation and balance. Coursera CEO Jeff Maggioncalda also shared exciting updates on the platform’s use of generative AI, inspiring us to think about how this technology can reshape education and professional development.
Looking Ahead
For OES, Coursera Connect wasn’t just a conference; it was an opportunity to align with forward-thinking leaders, clients, and partners who share our mission of creating innovative, inclusive learning experiences for diverse global audiences. We left Las Vegas energized, inspired, and ready to build on these meaningful conversations.
