Wendy Thorpe awarded Medal of the Order of Australia in King’s Birthday Honours<\/h2>\n

OES congratulates Chair of the OES Board<\/span> Wendy Thorpe on receiving the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in the 2025 King\u2019s Birthday Honours for her outstanding service to the financial services sector.<\/h4>\n

 <\/p>\n

The OES team is very proud to congratulate the Chair of the OES board, Wendy Thorpe, on being awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM<\/a>) in the 2025 King\u2019s Birthday Honours.<\/p>\n

We are thrilled to see our Chair recognised for her incredible work through this honour and to acknowledge the positive impact that Ms Thorpe has made throughout her career thus far.<\/p>\n

With more than 30 years\u2019 experience in executive and board roles, Ms Thorpe brings deep expertise, governance acumen and a strong commitment to impact in every organisation she serves.<\/p>\n

Ms Thorpe was recognised for her significant service<\/a> to the financial services sector and her leadership across some of Australia\u2019s largest organisations including AXA, AMP, and ANZ, in addition to OES.<\/p>\n

An experienced company director and executive, Ms Thorpe is currently Chair of Epworth Healthcare<\/a> and a Director of IAG<\/a>, People First Bank<\/a>, auDA<\/a> and Data Action<\/a>. Her previous board roles have included appointments as a Director of Ausgrid, Tower and AMP Bank, and she was a member of Council at Swinburne University of Technology.<\/p>\n

Throughout her career, Ms Thorpe has been a strong advocate for innovation, governance excellence and customer outcomes. Her leadership continues to have a lasting impact across the organisations she supports, including OES where her direction and guidance continues to inspire and motivate the team\u2019s successes.<\/p>\n

The 2025 Honours recognised 830 Australians<\/a> for their outstanding service and contributions to the community<\/a>. The list, release on Sunday 8 June 2025 by Governor-General<\/a> Sam Mostyn AC included 202 female leaders<\/a> amongst the 581 honourees who will attend investiture ceremonies at the Government House in their respective state or territory in the coming months to receive the insignia of their award.<\/p>\n

The Governor General expressed a heartfelt congratulations<\/a> to the new OAM recipients, including Ms Thorpe:<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery day, and all across the country, Australians are doing extraordinary things with passion, generosity, energy, and resolve.<\/p>\n

To all who are being recognised in The King\u2019s Birthday 2025 Honours List, I want to offer my congratulations and gratitude for all that you have given to Australia \u2013 and I look forward to meeting many of you at the investiture of your awards.\u201d<\/p>\n
